The film is based on real events unfolding on the territory of Belarus in the postwar period The traitor of the homeland and the accomplice of the fascists managed to avoid reprisals and managed to escape in turmoil He kills a Soviet soldier and takes his documents posing as himself He manages to get a job at the police and to deceive everyone up to a certain point This is just one of the plot lines that take place in the picture telling about the difficult time after the war when Soviet militiamen had to finish off vile criminals hiding their nature which ruined more than one life
